Texas Real Estate License Renewal Requirements
The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requires licensed real estate agents and brokers to renew their license every two years.
If you are renewing your sales agent license for the first time, TREC requires you to complete 98 hours of Sales Agent Apprentice Education (SAE) courses. SAE courses are different than Continuing Education (CE) courses and you can enroll in them by navigating to our Texas SAE Packages.
If you have already renewed your sales agent license once and this is your subsequent renewal or if you are a broker, TREC requires you to complete 18 hours of Continuing Education (CE) courses. You are on the right page! Enroll in one of our 18 Hour Continuing Education (CE) course packages to fulfill the TREC education requirement for your license renewal. We offer two types of CE course packages to pick from, depending on whether or not you supervise other license holders.
Course Details
Course Format: Our courses are completely online and self-paced. Our courses are a combination of text and interactive elements which consist of true/false matching, vocabulary matching, scenario-based learning and more. This format makes our courses both interesting and engaging.
Reporting: We report course completions to TREC automatically on your behalf, typically within 1-2 business days.
Course Expiration: Expiration dates vary based on each course but are generally one year after your order date.
Final Exams: TREC does not require license holders to pass a final exam to earn continuing education credit. Our courses are designed to pass with a 0% minimum score.
Certificates: You will receive an electronic certificate of course completion immediately upon successful course completion.
Repeat Courses: TREC does not allow license holders to repeat the same course within the two year period preceding their license renewal date.
