Texas real estate laws and regulations continue to evolve as the market and consumer protections change. The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) oversees these updates to ensure license holders operate ethically, remain compliant, and provide knowledgeable service to the public.

To meet these standards, TREC requires all Texas real estate agents and brokers to complete eight hours of mandatory legal education every renewal cycle, including four hours of Legal Update I and four hours of Legal Update II. These courses are updated every two years to reflect new laws, rule changes, and enforcement priorities, and we are pleased to offer the newly approved 2026–2027 editions of both courses.

Legal Update I (2026–2027) – Course Topics

TREC Rules, Updates, and Legislative Changes
Promulgated Contract Forms and Addenda
Fair Housing Law Overview
Fair Housing Best Practices and Property Management Considerations

Legal Update II (2026–2027) – Course Topics

Agency Relationships and Compliance
Required TREC Disclosures
Representing Veterans and Military Service Members
Enforcement Actions, Case Studies, and Commission Priorities
