Federal Fair Housing law and New York State laws protect real estate clients and customers against discriminatory practices, which are illegal. You must have a thorough understanding of fair housing laws and federal and state-protected classes, such as race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, and more.

This course will help you identify protected classes, fair housing violations in practice and advertising, and when to use the appropriate notices and disclosure forms. You will also review agency, including your duties to clients versus customers and the cooperating agent’s role. You’ll be better able to protect the interests of your clients, customers, brokerage, and your own business.
