Nearly 50 years ago the Fair Housing Act was enacted to protect home buyers and renters from discriminatory practices by landlords, property managers, real estate professionals and others related to the housing industery. All real estate license holders are responsible for keeping themselves informed and compliant with federal, state and local fair housing laws to protect themselves and their clients from discrimination and/or costly lawsuits.This course will review the evolution of the Fair Housing Act while providing updates regarding all new and proposed laws related to fair housing.
