Alabama Post-License Education

This course package meets all of the post-license education requirements for a temporary salesperson obtaining their original (permanent) salesperson license.

Alabama Real Estate Post-License Requirements
If you are a temporary licensed salesperson, the Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) requires you to complete 30 hours of Post-Licensing education within the first six months of licensure for active licenses and within the first year for inactive licenses. Once completed, you will be able to obtain your original (permanent) salesperson license. You are on the right page! If you have already completed your Post-License education and are renewing your license, AREC requires you to complete 15 hours of Continuing Education (CE) courses from an approved course provider. CE courses are different than Post-License courses and you can enroll in them by navigating to our Alabama CE Packages.
Course Details
Eligibility: AREC requires a student to already have a temporary salesperson license prior to beginning a post license course in order to receive post license credit. It is also important that you provide an accurate license number when registering for our courses. Â You can look up your temporary license number here.
Course Format: Our courses are completely online and self-paced. Our courses are a combination of text and interactive elements which consist of true/false matching, vocabulary matching, scenario-based learning and more. This format makes our courses both interesting and engaging.
Reporting: We report course completions to AREC automatically on your behalf, typically within 1-2 business days.
Course Expiration: Expiration dates vary based on each course but are generally one year after your order date.
Final Exams: AREC requires license holders to pass the post-license course final exams with a minimum score of 70%. The exam is not timed and consists of 50 multiple choice questions. If a student fails, they are allowed unlimited retakes.
Proctoring: AREC requires third party proctoring of post-license final exams. We partnered with PSI to offer proctoring at a low cost of $25 per exam attempt. This proctoring solution is 100% online and can be utilized at your convenience. Upon passing the exam, you will be asked to sign an affidavit verifying your identity.
Certificates: You will receive an electronic certificate of course completion upon successful course completion and submission of the signed affidavit.
